The Observatory, by Human Differentiation

This notice explains what data The Observatory collects, why, and what happens to it. It applies to all editions, including the Future of Leadership research edition.

What we collect

Depending on the edition and how far you go through it, we may collect:

• Responses you give during the journey (your answers, reflections, and any free text you enter)
• Demographic information you choose to share, such as role, industry, or experience level
• Human Design data, where you opt in to provide it, including birth date, time, and location, used to generate a bodygraph via a third party service
• Basic technical data, such as device and browser information, used to keep the platform running and to understand usage patterns

Human Design data of this kind can reveal or imply sensitive personal characteristics. We only collect it where you actively choose to provide it, and we ask for your separate, explicit consent before doing so.

Why we collect it

We use your data to:

• Generate your personal Embodied Leadership Report, delivered to you individually
• Combine your responses, anonymously, with everyone else's into the aggregate Future of Leadership Report
• Improve the questions, reflections, and structure of future editions
• Contact you about related offerings, such as "…by Design" or a "Realise Your Potential" session, where you have agreed to be contacted

Our legal basis

Where UK GDPR applies, we rely on:

• Your consent, for participating in the journey, for any Human Design data you provide, and for any follow-up contact
• Our legitimate interest, for basic technical data needed to operate the platform

You can withdraw consent at any time. This will not affect anything already generated from your data before you withdrew it, but we will stop further processing and honour any deletion request as set out below.

Who else sees your data

We use a small number of third party services to run The Observatory:

• Bodygraph.com, to calculate Human Design charts from the birth data you provide, where you have opted in
• Anthropic (Claude), to generate your personal reflections and report. Your responses are sent to Claude to produce this content
• Hosting and infrastructure providers who store and run the platform

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

About the AI-generated content

Your Embodied Leadership Report and the reflections you see during the journey are generated by AI, pattern-matched against Human Differentiation's own frameworks and material. They are not written by a person, and they are not reviewed individually before you receive them.

This content is intended for reflection and development. It is not clinical, psychological, medical, or professional advice, and should not be treated as a diagnosis or assessment of any kind.

The aggregate report

If you complete the Future of Leadership edition, your responses contribute to a published aggregate report. Your individual answers are anonymised before they appear there. The published report will not identify you or attribute any answer to you by name.

How long we keep your data

We keep your data for as long as needed to generate your report, contribute it to the aggregate findings, and respond to any follow-up you've agreed to. You can ask us to delete your data at any time, and we will remove it, other than data that has already been irreversibly anonymised as part of the aggregate report.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request erasure of your data
• Restrict or object to how we process your data
• Receive your data in a portable format
• Withdraw consent at any time
• Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you believe we have mishandled your data

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice as The Observatory develops. We will update the date at the top when we do, and where changes are significant, we will make that clear on the platform.
