Terms of use

The Observatory, by Human Differentiation

Last updated: 1 August 2026

Please read these terms before using The Observatory. By starting a journey, submitting responses, or otherwise using the platform, you agree to them.

Who we are

The Observatory is built and operated by Human Differentiation ("we," "us," "our"). These terms sit alongside our privacy notice, which explains how we handle your data.

What The Observatory is

The Observatory is an editorial and research platform. Each edition guides you through a structured journey, generates personalised reflections based on your answers, and, where stated, contributes your (anonymised) responses to a published aggregate report.

Some editions, such as Future of Leadership, ask for demographic information and, optionally, Human Design data, in order to generate an individual report and a broader research report.

Eligibility

You must be old enough to give informed consent to data processing in your jurisdiction to use The Observatory. If you're unsure whether that applies to you, please don't proceed.

AI-generated content

Reflections, insights, and reports generated through The Observatory are produced using AI, drawing on Human Differentiation's own frameworks and material. They are generated for you individually and are not reviewed by a person before delivery.

This content is offered for reflection, learning, and development. It is not professional, medical, psychological, or clinical advice of any kind, and should not be relied on as such. Where Human Design data is involved, the resulting content is interpretive and developmental in nature, not a factual or scientific assessment.

Your responses and your report

You keep ownership of the personal answers you provide. By submitting them, you give us permission to:

Our content and intellectual property

Everything else on The Observatory, including the questions, structure, frameworks, published aggregate reports, and any content behind "…by Design," belongs to Human Differentiation or its licensors. You may not copy, redistribute, or commercially reuse this content without our permission.

Third party services

Some parts of the journey rely on third party services, including Bodygraph.com for Human Design data and Anthropic's Claude for generating reflections and reports. Your use of The Observatory means you accept that your relevant data will be processed by these services as described in our privacy notice.

Where a journey leads you to book a session via Calendly, that booking is subject to Calendly's own terms as well as ours.

No guarantee of outcome

The Observatory is a reflective and developmental tool. We don't guarantee any particular insight, outcome, or result from using it, or from any product or session you go on to book through it.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Human Differentiation is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of The Observatory. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under UK law, including liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.

Changes

We may update The Observatory, these terms, or any edition over time. Where changes are significant, we'll make that clear on the platform.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
